Board of Directors
Organisational StructureThe day-to-day management of the Company is delegated to the Managing Director of PGG Wrightson. Senior Management TeamTim MilesTim Miles joined PGG Wrightson on 4 February 2008 as Chief Executive Officer and commenced as Managing Director on 18 March 2008. His background is outlined under the Directors section.
Rob WoodgateChief Financial Officer Rob Woodgate is responsible for PGG Wrightson’s Finance and Accounting functions, along with Risk Assurance and Treasury. He joined the company in 2009 as Group Financial Controller and worked closely with the senior management team through the capital raise and business strategy. Prior to this he held a number of senior finance roles in NZ and the UK.
Jason DaleGroup General Manager – Transformation and Strategy Jason Dale is responsible for the execution of the PGG Wrightson Group strategy and change management programmes. He joined the company in August 2009 as Chief Financial Officer from the Auckland International Airport, where he held a similar position. Prior to joining Auckland Airport, Jason had significant experience in senior executive financial positions, with Fonterra and KPMG. Jason also has extremely relevant governance expertise in New Zealand, Australia and South America.
Julian DalyGeneral Counsel and Company Secretary Julian Daly joined PGW in 2008. He is a former General Counsel for DB Breweries and previously practiced as a corporate lawyer in the Middle East and for Simpson Grierson. He has played an invaluable role in dealing with often challenging commercial issues and corporate decisions facing the organisation and is responsible for PGG Wrightson Group’s legal affairs and corporate secretariat functions.
John McKenzieGroup General Manager, AgriTech John McKenzie is responsible for PGG Wrightson’s Global Seed business. He has reporting to him the business units in New Zealand, Australia and South America together with Research and Development, Production, all International Seed activities and our Turf business and Grain business’s. He was the founder of the specialist proprietary forage seed company Agricom Ltd in 1986, which merged with Pyne Gould Guinness in July 2005. Shortly after that John was appointed the General Manager for Seeds and Grain of PGG Wrightson Seeds Ltd. John graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science. He practiced as a farm consultant after leaving Lincoln. John has 510 ha arable and horticultural property and has dairying interests.
Andrew McSweeneyGroup General Manager Human Resources and Corporate Services Andrew comes to PGW after an outstanding career both in New Zealand and overseas. Most recently, he held Executive positions in financial services, as General Manager Human Resources for National Bank and General Manager People Capital for ANZ National.
Michael ThomasGroup General Manager, AgriServices Michael Thomas started with the Company in late July 2007. He has reporting to him the general managers of PGG Wrightson Finance Limited, Insurance, Real Estate and Funds Management. He has spent the past 10 years in a number of senior positions in Australia’s largest agri-business, Landmark and AWB (Australian Wheat Board). He held senior roles in mergers and acquisitions, in investor and grower relations in AWB, and executive general manager roles in sales, operations and financial services in Landmark. Michael has a Master of Economics from the University of New England, a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Adelaide, and graduate diplomas in Agricultural Economics and Finance & Investment.
Carlos Miguel de LeonGroup General Manager, South America Carlos joined the company in April 1999, as business development manager at WrightsonPas, a small forage seed operation in Uruguay. In 2005 he was appointed as GM South America, and led the expansion of the company into other seed operations and other activities, as well as further expansion into Argentina and Brazil. |
